July
In some respects, this month sucked more than all the ones before it. Within a week, my computer hard drive died (while I was backing it up) and took all my pictures from the first 6 months of the year, my camera died (and I had to be without it for the next two months), my dad did not die (but had more cancer surgery), and my Marty Reasoner became an Atlanta Thrasher (where he has one of the best plus/minus on the team and fulfill his role as a PKer and a faceoff guy - like what the Oilers need right now). I also reconnected with an guy from my past. We went for lunch a few times and then may have gotten it on in a Gastown alley. The full story of shoeshine is much better than the one line above. I may have also had a rendezvous with the older brother of a high school classmate. What month was it again?

August
It was just a really good month. I was taken to another place while at the Radiohead concert, and smitten for a week because of a man who came to see it. I played lots of beach volleyball, made lots of new friends, watched shooting stars, and printed off a lot of pictures because my digi was out of commission.

September
Happy 27th birthday. I've had better birthdays and I've also had worse. I can't think of any memorable changes in my own life or the lives around me in September and frankly, after the summer I had, it was about time for a rest. Work started to pick up. Over the next month, I would be in scrums with Harper (he wouldn't take press questions though), Dion, Layton...as well as countless MPs, MLAs and civic politicians over the next month. I had the chance to do a sit down interview with one of the richest men I'll ever meet, Ted Rogers. I'm sure I just got thrown it because they didn't want to waste one of our real reporters on it, but good for me. It was interesting being in a room of such wealth and importance. I also got to have one of the final interviews with him before his death.

October
My brother decided to ask his girlfriend of nearly a decade to marry him. I was honoured to be part of the process, even if an otter may have crapped on the romantic candlelit cove. Friday nights became dedicated to a return to school - photography class. All those elections continued. Remember cute media rep? Well, after months of thinking he was "too good for me", I decided to just see if he wanted to be better friends. He thought it was a date, and I didn't mind. At the end of the month, I headed to the homeland where I reconnected, however awkwardly, with my Radiohead fan-friend (and another one of my 2008 crushes - though he goes back to 2004).

November
My Edmonton visit left me feeling incomplete and anxious. I felt like I was letting down a friend because we are in very different mindsets. I felt like I was letting down a boy because I can't keep believing in someone that goes across provincial borders. But I found an outlet for many of my matters of the heart - another blog. Don't ask for the address, it's secret, alias-based and lost somewhere on the ol' Al Gore. And speaking of politicians, Obama won. And closer to home, Gregor Robertson won. I got to be there and cute media rep (who would end our relationship before it got off the ground) got to be there.

December:
It snowed a lot (like 70cm). I worked a lot (11 straight days). I spent not that much (maybe $150 on Christmas). I was sick a lot (like now). The month ended with my computer dying, again. With the arrival of baby, I expect the departure of my best guy friend. Sigh. I had a nice but short visit with my family. I also had a random makeout session with the unlikeliest of people and strangely enough, haven't been able to stop thinking about it. Hopefully some of my crushes can come back to town as soon as possible, so that I can stop considering the idea of throwing myself at him again.

Nice recap! What a year you had, so much happened! And my visit in June seems so, so long ago.
Fingers crossed that'09 brings you what you want, even if you don't know you want it yet.
I feel I need to recap the recap.
I barely even touch on most of the things that happened.
Did I tell you that I don't know what I want in 2009? I feel like I wrote it somewhere but can't find it. That'll be in the next post for sure.
