Snow in Vancouver is usually more like white rain. It is water by the time it hits the ground and, at best, it creates streets of slush.
But this time around, it is cold enough for actual snow - that hasn't melted! I think the term "arctic deep freeze" doesn't really describe what we are going through (thanks News1130) especially if you look at the weather map and see the high temperatures across the prairies that are -28 and it feels ten degrees colder with the windchill.
Anyways, I'm happy. Put on another layer and enjoy the sun. When it rains all through January, you'll miss this.
